Following the charming " target="_blank">"Cat Peek Matchbox" series, renowned Japanese capsule toy maker Kitan Club is once again collaborating with popular sculptor Funabashi Tsutomu to release a new collection in April 2022: the "Hugging Taiyaki Cat" (抱きしめ鯛) capsule toys!
Funabashi Tsutomu, known for blending realistic animal sculpts with fantastical elements to create imaginative cat-themed works, now presents felines tightly embracing taiyaki. Many cat owners can surely relate to seeing their furry companions sound asleep, hugging a favorite toy. Imagine the joy if your cat decided to snuggle your hand while dozing off – you wouldn't dare wake them! These figures boast impressive detail, from the cats' fur patterns to the taiyaki's surface texture and baked marks. What's more, the cats and taiyaki are separable, allowing for even more creative display possibilities. And seriously, a cat sleeping with its tongue sticking out? That's just too cute to handle!
The "Funabashi Tsutomu Hugging Taiyaki Cat" capsule toy series features four delightful variations:
- Kijitora Cat with Red Bean Paste Taiyaki (キジトラと粒あん)
- Hachiware Cat with Custard Cream Taiyaki (ハチワレとカスタードクリーム)
- Shirobuchi Cat with Matcha Cream Taiyaki (白ぶちと抹茶クリーム)
- Calico Cat with Purple Yam Taiyaki (三毛と紫いも)
