HobbyJapan's figure brand AMAKUNI today (July 17) announced the upcoming release of their latest product from "New Sakura Wars," the "Sakura Amamiya 1/7 Scale Figure," slated for October-November 2022.
Designed by manga artist Tite Kubo, the quintessential heroine Sakura Amamiya is the childhood friend of protagonist Seijuro Kamiyama. In her youth, she was seemingly saved by Sakura Shinguji of the original Imperial Combat Revue's Flower Division, inspiring her deep admiration. This led her to join the New Imperial Combat Revue, and she also trained in swordsmanship under Hakushu Murasame, the "Omurice Devil." Sakura possesses a bright, proactive, and earnest personality. Despite her occasional clumsiness and less-than-stellar theatrical performances, she relentlessly strives to revive the Imperial Combat Revue and achieve her dream of emulating Sakura Shinguji, never giving up.
The "Sakura Amamiya 1/7 Scale Figure" is based on Tite Kubo's character illustration, capturing her resolute gaze as she prepares to draw her beloved sword, "Amamiya Kunisada." Her long hair, furisode sleeves, and hakama are sculpted with incredible dynamism, while high-luminosity paintwork expresses nuanced light and shadow gradients. The "Amamiya Kunisada" itself features intricately detailed tsuba and blade ornamentation, finished with metallic paint for a realistic texture. The entire piece perfectly conveys Sakura Amamiya's powerful spirit!
