Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division today announced the latest addition to their popular "Figure-rise Standard" character model kit series: "Kamen Rider BLACK" from "Kamen Rider BLACK," slated for release in June 2022.
In the series, protagonist Kotaro Minami is kidnapped by the evil organization Gorgom on his 19th birthday. He is subjected to forced bio-reconstruction and has the "King Stone," a symbol of royalty, implanted into his body, with the aim of transforming him into the "Century King Black Sun." Before his brainwashing is complete, his foster father, Soichiro Akizuki, rescues him, sacrificing his own life in the process. To save his foster brother, Nobuhiko Akizuki, Kotaro utilizes his newly acquired powers to transform into "Kamen Rider BLACK" and declare war on the ambitious Gorgom.
The "Figure-rise Standard Kamen Rider BLACK" model kit meticulously recreates the multi-colored chest parts through precise color separation. Different processing techniques are employed to replicate the mirror-like sheen of the black exterior armor and the metallic texture of the silver components. Its flexible knee joint design allows the calf and thigh to make contact, enabling dynamic poses such as the in-show transformation stance and powerful special moves like "Rider Punch" and "Rider Kick," thanks to the inclusion of various interchangeable hand parts.
