Time to clot your wounds! Good Smile Company's affordable pre-painted PVC figure series, POP UP PARADE, is set to release a figure of the #1 most popular character from the hit anime series "Cells at Work!", Platelet, in May 2022!
"Cells at Work!" (はたらく細胞) is an anime adaptation of the manga created by Akane Shimizu, which began airing in July 2018. The series anthropomorphizes various cells within the human body, depicting their daily functions in an engaging and humorous way. We see busy Red Blood Cells constantly making deliveries (transporting oxygen and carbon dioxide), child-like Platelets responsible for repairs, and the cool-headed, yet somewhat nervous, White Blood Cells diligently on patrol.
In "Cells at Work!", Platelets appear as young children, typically wearing baseball caps emblazoned with their name, carrying yellow school-like satchels, and dressed in oversized light blue T-shirts, shorts, and shoes, resembling elementary school students. Their adorable design has made them incredibly popular, establishing them as the series' #1 fan-favorite character and a beloved choice for many petite cosplayers.
This POP UP PARADE Platelet figure faithfully recreates her appearance from the original series, featuring an energetic and cheerful expression. She's depicted with her large yellow satchel and an adorable right hand raised in a wave. Standing approximately 15 cm tall, this figure is perfect for fans of the series to add to their collection.
