To celebrate the 30th anniversary of "Crayon Shin-chan," Japanese toy giant Bandai is releasing a hilarious real-life prop: the "Approximately 1/1 Scale Buriburizaemon's Sword." While its appearance is comical, the product uniquely features sound effects voiced by none other than Hiroshi Kamiya! It was priced at 4,950 JPY and slated for a July 2022 release.

Buriburizaemon (ぶりぶりざえもん) is a beloved character from "Crayon Shin-chan," serving as the protagonist in the "Buriburizaemon's Great Adventure" anime series. Originally a doodle by Shin-chan, he's characterized by his asymmetrical facial expression. In his lore, he's depicted as a righteous hero who protects villages, wielding a samurai sword made from traditional Japanese Chitosame candy. However, his personality is notoriously weak and cowardly; he's quick to abandon his allies if the enemy proves stronger. Much like Shin-chan, he also has a fondness for beautiful older women.

The "Approximately 1/1 Scale Buriburizaemon's Sword" measures approximately 49 cm (about 19.3 inches) in length. Its design meticulously recreates the sword Buriburizaemon wears at his waist in the show, capturing the simple yet iconic look and even the uneven, candy-like texture of its Chitosame construction (note: Buriburizaemon is a professional, kids, please don't lick!). Pressing the hilt activates seven brand-new, specially recorded lines by voice actor Hiroshi Kamiya. What's more, the sword comes with adorable and humorous display stands shaped like Buriburizaemon's little pig hands, making for a truly charming and funny display piece.
