TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, today officially announced the latest METAL BUILD release from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ASTRAY": the "METAL BUILD Astray Draig Head Option Set," slated for September 2022.
This option set allows you to combine it with the separately sold "METAL BUILD Gundam Astray Red Frame Kai," "METAL BUILD Flight Unit," and three "METAL BUILD Caledfwlch" units to recreate Lowe Guele's beloved Astray Red Dragon.
The Astray Red Dragon is an enhanced form of the MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame, customized by protagonist Lowe Guele. It's equipped with various advanced, proprietary parts developed by Lowe. Its head unit is replaced with the "Draig Head," featuring multi-functional beam antennas that enhance Mirage Colloid particle control. On its back, the Flight Unit is armed with three formidable "Caledfwlch" units. These aren't just for show; they can function as welding torches, cutting tools, and when needed, transform into large swords or beam guns. Each Caledfwlch also houses a Mirage Colloid particle dispersal device, used for attitude control or to neutralize enemy Mirage Colloid particles.
The "METAL BUILD Astray Draig Head Option Set" includes the distinctive "Draig Head" and "Beam Antenna Effects" to recreate the Astray Red Dragon's unique head sculpt, differentiating it from the Astray Noir Draig. The remaining parts, however, utilize the same design, featuring the long handle for the Caledfwlch J-Mode (Halberd Form), three new Caledfwlch bases, and three output amplifiers that attach to the Flight Unit.
