BANDAI SPIRITS' Tamashii Nations, the collector's division behind the popular "S.H.Figuarts" action figure line, today announced the upcoming release of "Rice Shower" from "Uma Musume Pretty Derby," slated for August 2022.
The highly popular Uma Musume, Rice Shower, is based on the real-life Japanese racehorse from the 90s known as the "Black Assassin." Despite her petite stature, she excelled in long-distance races over 3000 meters. Through rigorous training, she famously thwarted Mihono Bourbon's Triple Crown bid and Mejiro McQueen's attempt at a Spring Tenno Sho three-peat, earning her the moniker of a "villain" among some fans. While the real Rice Shower tragically suffered a fatal injury and was euthanized on the track, "Uma Musume" offers her a different future, where she triumphantly claims the Spring Tenno Sho championship to widespread audience acclaim.
The "S.H.Figuarts Rice Shower" figure stands approximately 12 cm tall, perfectly capturing her small frame. It meticulously recreates her gorgeous black race uniform and the assassin-symbolizing dagger at her waist. Articulated joints are incorporated into her limbs and tail, allowing for dynamic posing. The figure also includes five interchangeable face parts to replicate her wide range of expressions from the series, letting collectors recreate her iconic racing poses.
