Square Enix has announced the latest addition to their approximately 1/6 scale "PLAY ARTS Kai" action figure series: Jack Garland from the action RPG "Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin." The figure is slated for release in November 2022.
The dark knight Garland was originally a revered hero in the world of the first "Final Fantasy" game, but his ambition for the throne led him to kidnap the princess. After being defeated by the four Warriors of Light, he returned 2,000 years into the past to become Chaos, the master of darkness. He then created four manifestations of Chaos, sending them to the present day to rescue him and bring him back to 2,000 years prior, creating an infinite loop where the Warriors of Light are destined to fail and Garland remains immortal. "Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin" explores one such possibility within this cycle, depicting the story of protagonist Jack's descent into darkness to become the antagonist Garland.
The "PLAY ARTS Kai Jack Garland" figure meticulously sculpts his imposing form, clad in his signature black armor. The precise detailing recreates the ominous, twisted patterns on his armor and greatsword, while metallic paintwork highlights the golden edges and jewel-like accents. His purple fabric cape is sewn with an internal wire, allowing collectors to dynamically pose it and perfectly capture Garland's powerful greatsword-wielding stances!
