Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya has announced two new additions to its "EVOROIDS" model kit series, aimed at younger builders. Joining the lineup are the aerial combatant "S-EGR-06 SKY-EAGLE" and the cool, tactical support unit "EVG-R01 GYRO-N." Both are priced at 3,080 JPY each and are slated for a September 2022 release.
The "EVOROIDS" series is a brand-new robot model kit line designed for ages 8 and up. It draws inspiration from the 1980s "OMOROID" toy series, which also featured designs by mechanical designer Kunio Okawara and manga artist Koichi Tokita, with additional contributions from toy design and planning company ASTRAYS Inc. The EVOROIDS feature a compact, low-head design, making them significantly easier to assemble than previous Kotobukiya products, and each unit can transform into two distinct forms.
This latest release, the "EVG-R01 GYRO-N," embodies calm and composed tactical support. It boasts simple assembly and can transform between its robot form and battle helicopter mode without the need for part swapping! The kit comes molded in a primary desert yellow, with gunmetal for its core and clear blue for the canopy. Decals are also included to replicate its illustrated appearance. Its head, waist, shoulders, and hands all utilize a standardized 3mm joint system and core block, allowing for extensive customization by swapping parts with other EVOROIDS kits, as well as Kotobukiya's M.S.G (Modeling Support Goods), Frame Arms, Hexa Gear, and other models featuring 3mm joints.
