Following the recent announcement of the larger 10298 Vespa 125 set, scheduled for release on March 1, 2022, LEGO's Creator line is also offering collectors an even more miniature version to add to their collection: the "40517 Vespa" scooter!
This predominantly red "40517 Vespa" model measures approximately 9 cm (3.5 inches) tall and 12 cm (4.7 inches) long when assembled. Despite consisting of only 118 pieces, it still manages to capture the iconic body lines remarkably well. The seat and handlebars are rendered in black, with stickers used to add intricate details to the bodywork and rear. While the model doesn't feature a steerable front wheel, this design choice allows it to stand steadily without the need for a kickstand. This type of brick-built vehicle, constructed with a small number of pieces and an accessible price point, is incredibly appealing! It comes highly recommended for all Vespa enthusiasts.
