Chinese model studio Animal Planet, known for its original "Chubby Series," is back with its fourth installment. Following popular releases like the Gecko and Turtle, the studio introduced "Chubby Series Vol. 4: Marine Animals," focusing on ocean creatures. The complete set features a total of seven figures, including a secret chase variant. Each figure had a suggested retail price of 69 RMB and was originally slated for release in May 2022.
The "Chubby Series Vol. 4: Marine Animals" continues the line's signature style, with sculptor Luobo (梦卜) serving as the creative director. These figures charmingly interpret marine life with their signature plump, rounded forms! This wave introduces a delightful cast of characters, including the Lionfish, Orca, Sea Turtle, Walrus, Great White Shark, Beluga Whale, and an unrevealed secret Octopus. Standing approximately 70 to 90mm tall, these palm-sized collectibles boast realistic sculpting and intricate paint applications. The charmingly plump forms create a delightful contrast, bringing a sense of therapeutic cuteness to these mysterious deep-sea creatures.
