Good Smile Company's MECHA SMILE brand recently announced the latest addition to their 'MODEROID' model kit series: the "MADOX-01" from the 1987 OVA anime "Metal Skin Panic MADOX-01," slated for a September 2022 release.

The anti-tank powered armor "MADOX-01" featured in the series is a new type of land warfare weapon secretly developed jointly by Japanese corporations, the Japan Self-Defense Forces, and the U.S. military. Protagonist Koji Sugimoto, a mechanic, accidentally boards the suit but finds himself unable to exit due to system malfunctions. His reckless decision to wear the armor to meet his girlfriend leads to a desperate chase by the military.

The "MODEROID MADOX-01" marks the first time this iconic powered armor has been released as a model kit. It meticulously recreates the intricate heavy armor and exposed frame details across its body. The kit comes packed with high-firepower armaments, including anti-tank missiles, a 12.7mm machine gun, a 35mm auto-cannon, a large Gatling gun, and soft material ammo belts.

Through interchangeable parts, collectors can display the hands in either a standard palm or a mechanical claw configuration. Swapping out wing parts allows for the recreation of its hovering state with deployed flaps. Both the head cockpit hatch and the back feature opening mechanisms, revealing internal details such as the pilot's head when opened.
