Highly popular among "Saint Seiya" fans and collectors, BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division is set to release a Revival version of the original anime's "Steel Saint," Landcross Daichi, in July 2022 for their "Saint Cloth Myth" series!
The Steel Saints are original characters from the "Saint Seiya" anime. They were secretly developed by Dr. Asamori, commissioned by Mitsumasa Kido, using scientific technology to create Cloths for unforeseen circumstances. There are three Steel Cloths, each representing a different element and constellation: the Sky Cloth (Tucana) for "Sky," the Land Cloth (Fox) for "Land," and the Marine Cloth (Swordfish) for "Sea." The Steel Cloths primarily harness mechanical power, each possessing unique abilities such as energy absorption or emitting interference waves.
The trio of Steel Saints first appeared in the original series during the battles against the Silver Saints, prior to the Twelve Temples arc, and then had no further role. However, they made a return in episode 94 of "Saint Seiya Ω," where they fought alongside the other Saints against the Pallasite Aegir. It was revealed that their previous absence was due to the immense strain the powerful Steel Cloths placed on their wearers; after fighting at full power, their bodies were pushed to their limits, forcing them to temporarily withdraw from battle.
This REVIVAL version of the Steel Saint Landcross Daichi (Sky Cloth Fox) significantly enhances the previously released edition. Details and colors are now even closer to the original anime. It includes three interchangeable face parts with more expressive sculpts, plus an additional hair part. Three sets of interchangeable hand parts are also included. The Cloth can still be reassembled into its non-worn, sports car form, and the figure maintains excellent articulation.
