TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectible toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, today announced the upcoming release of Ushio Kofune from "Summertime Render" as part of their non-articulated figure brand, Figuarts ZERO!
"Summertime Render" (サマータイムレンダ) is a suspense manga created by Japanese artist Yasuki Tanaka, which began serialization in Shonen Jump+ in October 2017. The story kicks off when protagonist Shinpei Ajiro returns to his hometown, Hitogashima, to attend the funeral of his childhood friend, Ushio Kofune. During conversations with his friends, Shinpei learns that Ushio's death, initially believed to be an accident, might be far more sinister. Simultaneously, strange occurrences begin to plague Shinpei, all seemingly connected to the island's ancient legend of the "Shadow Sickness." An anime adaptation of the series is also set to begin airing on April 14, 2022.
This Figuarts ZERO rendition of Ushio Kofune faithfully recreates her iconic look, featuring long golden hair and a one-piece swimsuit. Her fair skin and clear blue eyes are meticulously sculpted, while translucent wave effect parts create the illusion of Ushio floating. The golden hair also boasts a beautiful gradient treatment at the ends, resulting in a dreamy and stunning overall presentation. Key story elements such as her smartphone, watch, and shell necklace are also visible within the sculpt. Fans can look forward to the full reveal in April.
