Japanese capsule toy manufacturer SO-TA (State of the Art Co., Ltd.) is expanding its popular 1/1 scale realistic creature series. Following acclaimed releases like the Hercules Beetle and Gecko, the company is now launching new "Animalie Collection 1/1 Desert Rain Frog & Waxy Monkey Tree Frog" capsule toys! This collection features four unique figures, each priced at 500 JPY, and is slated for release in late June 2022.
This third frog-themed entry in the "Animalie Collection 1/1 Desert Rain Frog & Waxy Monkey Tree Frog" series was sculpted and supervised by Shuzo Kanimushi, head of the biology department at Japanese design team Frog Tree (フロッグツリー). These highly detailed, true-to-life 1/1 scale figures perfectly capture the distinctive features of the Desert Rain Frog (also known as the Manju Frog) and the Waxy Monkey Tree Frog. Each frog will be available in two distinct paint finishes: original color and a glow-in-the-dark version. Measuring approximately 45mm, these figures boast expressive, intimidating yet undeniably cute poses, with the glow-in-the-dark variants offering a unique charm.
