Following previous releases like geckos, turtles, and marine life, Chinese model studio Animal Planet is back with the fifth installment of its original "Chubby Series": the "Chubby Series 05: Snake Edition." The complete set features eight standard designs plus a secret chase figure, each with a suggested retail price of 138 RMB. It was originally scheduled for release in May 2022.
The fifth installment, "Chubby Series 05: Snake Edition," continues the line's signature style. Under the supervision of sculptor Luobo (梦卜), these popular pet reptiles are adorably reinterpreted with plump, rounded forms! The snake lineup includes: Gaboon Viper, Ball Python (Anzhi), Ball Python (Lucy), Western Hognose Snake (Albino), Western Hognose Snake (Normal Morph), King Cobra, California Kingsnake, Mexican Black Kingsnake, and an unrevealed secret figure. Measuring approximately 60 to 90mm, these palm-sized figures feature realistic details like scales and head sculpts. Their curled-up poses enhance their adorable chubbiness, and their bright, glossy eyes add an unexpectedly therapeutic charm.
