TAMASHII NATIONS, BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division's popular die-cast toy line, METAL BUILD, today announced the latest addition from "Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Revealed Chronicle": the "Gundam Devise Exia," slated for an October 2022 release.
The new story "Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Revealed Chronicle," a collaboration between the Gundam 00 series and the METAL BUILD line, delves into the development of the "Twin Drive System" during the gap between the anime's first and second seasons. After the private armed organization Celestial Being ended the civil war in the Kingdom of Azadistan through armed intervention, various Earth factions secretly conspired to launch a counterattack against them. To gain the power to stand against the world, Celestial Being experimentally equipped mobile suits like the Gundam Exia and Gundam Dynames with the "Double Drive" system during this period. This system, by connecting two GN Drives in series, achieved double the GN particle output, unleashing significantly higher mobile suit performance.
The previously released Gundam Astraea Type-X Finsternis will also appear in this storyline.
The "Gundam Devise Exia," born from these experiments, was designed by mechanical designer Kanetake Ebikawa. It features the addition of the massive close-combat weapon "Prototype GN Blaster Sword" and a new "GN Devise Backpack" on its back. While it achieves enhanced performance by connecting two GN Drives in series, it only houses GN Particle Condensers due to its experimental nature. The backpack also conceals two mechanical arms, capable of grabbing GN Blades or Beam Sabers for surprise attacks.
The "METAL BUILD Gundam Devise Exia" utilizes the base body of the previously released Gundam Exia. In addition to its original GN Sword, GN Long Blade/Short Blade, GN Beam Sabers, and GN Beam Daggers, it includes newly sculpted "GN Devise Backpack" and "Prototype GN Blaster Sword" parts. The backpack's weapon racks incorporate parts similar to those found on the Gundam Exia R4. The hidden mechanical arms on both sides are identical to those from the GN-ARMS, allowing for dynamic poses where they grasp weapons.
Furthermore, the METAL BUILD series also plans to release other mobile suits in the future, including the large-scale armament "GN Arms Type E" for Gundam Exia (a prototype of which has been previously displayed), and the "Gundam Devise Dynames," which appeared in the "Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Revealed Chronicle" project preview.
