Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, recently announced that both its "Chogokin" and "Robot Spirits" finished model lines are slated to release new products based on the real-scale "RX-93ff Nu Gundam" statue located in Fukuoka. Release dates are yet to be determined.
The "Life-Size RX-93ff Nu Gundam Statue," which generated significant buzz in 2021, is set to be officially unveiled this April in front of LaLaport Fukuoka. Standing at an impressive 24.8 meters tall, this statue is based on the design from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack." Under the supervision of anime director Yoshiyuki Tomino, it features a redesigned "Long-Range Fin Funnel" capable of supporting the suit on the ground, along with updated colors and markings on the mobile suit itself. Its colossal size is truly awe-inspiring, and the right arm even incorporates a movable mechanism that allows it to be raised.
Prototypes for both RX-93ff Nu Gundam figures were showcased during a recent official live stream. The "Chogokin" version, known for its partial die-cast metal construction, boasts a substantial, weighty feel and a rich, thick paint application, presented in a larger scale. In contrast, the "Robot Spirits" version features less paint but emphasizes highly flexible articulation, a hallmark of the series, though the full range of motion was not extensively demonstrated during the live broadcast.
