Bandai Candy Division (BANDAICANDY) has officially announced the latest addition to its popular "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT" (SMP) series. This new release, "Hyakujuu Gattai Gao Icarus" from "Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger," is slated for a July 2022 release.
First appearing in Episode 31, "Gao Icarus," the Sky Spirit King, emerged during a critical moment when the Gaorangers faced total annihilation against the enemy general Onra. The guardian deity Gao Falcon awakened, performing a miracle to revive them, and then combined with Gao Rhinos, Gao Giraffe, Gao Deers, and Gao Armadillo to form this powerful Spirit King. Gao Icarus is capable of high-speed aerial flight and can unleash devastating attacks like the "Ultimate Sky Technique: Icarus Burst."
The "SMP Hyakujuu Gattai Gao Icarus" lineup includes five Power Animals: Gao Falcon, Gao Giraffe, Gao Deers, Gao Rhinos, and Gao Armadillo. Once assembled, these Power Animals faithfully recreate their impressive designs and feature the complete combining transformation gimmick to form the Sky Spirit King, "Gao Icarus"!
Once completed, Gao Icarus boasts an impressive wingspan of up to 45 cm. The eye patterns on its wings are separate parts, allowing collectors to swap between blue and gold pupils. The wings also feature a folding mechanism to replicate three different sizes seen in the series: the "suit version," "CG version," and "DX toy version," as well as a defensive mode where the wings wrap around the body.
Additionally, the set comes with a "Sky Island-themed display stand" for Gao Falcon, the "Falcon Summoner (Falcon Blaster)" for use with the separately sold SUPER SHODO Gao Red, effect parts for the special move "Oni Kantetsu Kirin Tsuki Zan" (Demon Penetrating Giraffe Thrust Slash), and effect parts for the special move "Oni Gekimetsu Icarus Hakaigeki" (Demon Annihilating Icarus Destruction Attack)!
