Qualia, a Japanese toy company renowned for its quirky and imaginative creations, is back with a new capsule toy series. This time, they're anthropomorphizing the beloved everyday dish, gyoza, with the "Gyoza-za" capsule toy collection. Featuring five different designs, each spin will retail for 300 JPY and was slated for release in June 2022.

Following popular anthropomorphic food capsule toys like the "Wild Fried Shrimp" series with illustrator Inuhiro, and "Living Bread" by felt artist atelier hatena, Qualia continues its signature quirky style with the "Gyoza-za" capsule toys. The name "Gyoza-za" is a playful pun on "gyoza" (dumpling) in Japanese, and the series depicts dumplings patiently waiting to be eaten. Each figure measures approximately five centimeters. While the gyoza faces are expressionless, their varying sitting poses—including a relaxed bent-knee sit, a formal seiza, cross-legged, and hugging their knees—subtly convey their different moods and sentiments.
