Bandai Spirits' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's toy division has released a sample unboxing preview for the latest entry in their popular alloy toy line, the "Chogokin Damashii" series, with the upcoming "GX-101 Daitetsujin 17" set to launch on the 26th of this month.
In related news, TAMASHII NATIONS has also confirmed that Daitetsujin 17's brother machine from the series, "Daitetsujin 18," will be commercialized under the Chogokin Damashii GX-101X product number. Further details regarding this release will be announced soon.
The original tokusatsu series "Daitetsujin 17" first aired in 1977. That same year, the "DX Chogokin Daitetsujin 17" toy was released, featuring transformation mechanisms to replicate its various forms, selling a cumulative 1.66 million units and becoming the best-selling item in the "Chogokin" series. Now, 45 years later, Bandai is once again producing "GX-101 Daitetsujin 17" with the latest Chogokin Damashii technology, offering more intricate sculpting, advanced transformation gimmicks, and integrated light-up and sound features.
