BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division has officially announced the upcoming release of the "MG 1/100 GINN Gladiator," a new mobile suit from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ECLIPSE," joining their highly detailed and articulated Master Grade (MG) Gunpla series. This Premium Bandai exclusive kit is slated for a July 2022 release.
Designed by mechanical designer Junichi Akutsu, the ZGMF-1017GR GINN Gladiator makes its debut in the "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ECLIPSE" side story manga. This land combat-specialized variant, developed from the Z.A.F.T. military's mass-produced GINN, boasts additional heavy armor, two massive "Executioner Swords," a large booster, and a linear cannon mounted on its back. Its formidable assault capabilities allow it to effectively neutralize enemy ground fortresses.
The "MG 1/100 GINN Gladiator" utilizes the frame from the standard GINN kit released in 2021, but features a wealth of new parts to recreate its additional full-body armor and dedicated armaments. Both the large back booster and linear cannon incorporate multiple articulation points, allowing for adjustable barrel and booster directions. The two massive Executioner Swords are also meticulously detailed, faithfully reproducing the engraved patterns on their blades.
The kit also includes "3-barrel short-range guided missile launchers" mounted on the calves, the "Hawkbill Dagger" – a high-voltage weapon designed to pierce mobile suit armor gaps – and newly designed water-slide decals for the unit's markings.
