The popular DefoReal (デフォリアル) series, produced by Japan's PLEX Company and distributed by X-PLUS Company, is set to release a new painted finished product: "DefoReal Godzilla (1973)." This follows their previous release of Jet Jaguar, both based on the 1973 monster film "Godzilla vs. Megalon." The figure will be available in a standard edition and a "Shonen RIC" store exclusive edition, with a September 2022 release date.
"Godzilla vs. Megalon" (ゴジラ対メガロ), the 13th film in the Godzilla series, tells the story of an undersea kingdom disturbed by human nuclear weapons testing. They unleash the monster Megalon to retaliate, aiming to destroy the surface world and seize control of the artificial robot, Jet Jaguar. Megalon even calls upon Gigan, sent by aliens, leading to a two-on-two monster battle with Godzilla, who arrives to aid humanity.
The "DefoReal Godzilla (1973)" painted finished figure captures the adorable Godzilla in a charming, approximately 2.5-head-tall chibi proportion. It faithfully recreates the Showa-era Godzilla's signature large eyes, wavy mouth, and prominent nostrils. The sharp teeth, fierce claws, and intricately sculpted spiky skin exude a strong sense of realism. Its distinctive, watery eyes feature a slightly cloudy, lifelike paint application, making them incredibly striking!
