Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" model kit flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, today announced the upcoming release of its latest store-exclusive item, the "MG 1/100 Gundam AGE-1 Wear System Set [Clear Color]." This highly anticipated kit is slated to go on sale starting April 29, 2022.
The Gundam AGE-1 is a mobile suit developed by protagonist Flit Asuno, utilizing data from the Asuno family's inherited AGE Device, in collaboration with Earth Federation Forces technicians. The machine's most distinctive feature is its ability to evolve alongside its pilot, collecting combat data from enemy mobile suits and automatically generating new equipment via the AGE System. Depending on combat needs, it can transform from its basic Normal form into the close-quarters combat-specialized Titus (Heavy Armored) form, or the high-speed combat-focused Spallow form.
The "MG 1/100 Gundam AGE-1 Wear System Set [Clear Color]" is based on the general release kit from 2012. It comes packed with rich content, including the Gundam AGE-1 Normal body, Titus wear parts, and Spallow wear parts. This allows builders to freely swap between all three forms, just like in the series, and recreate their respective armaments with included effect parts.
This limited-edition clear color version features transparent molding for its red, blue, white, and yellow exterior armor, while the inner frame and weapon parts are molded in a metallic gunmetal-like color. Each of the three forms boasts a unique translucent sheen, making it ideal for special customization techniques such as adding LED lighting or glow-in-the-dark paints, offering a distinct style compared to standard Gunpla.
