Max Factory, a Japanese model manufacturer, has announced the latest addition to its popular and diverse "PLAMAX" model kit series: the "Kage Koui Senoumaru" from "Mashin Hero Wataru," slated for an August 2022 release. This item will be exclusively available through the GOODSMILE Online Shop.
The Kage Koui (Shadow Plated Armor) concept originated from the "Mashin Daishuugou" (Mashin Collection) model kit series released by TAKARA in 1989, as well as the spin-off manga "Mashin Hero Wataru: Makai Totsunyuu Monogatari" (Mashin Hero Wataru: Story of Entering the Demon World) which tied into the model line. In the story, Wataru Ikusabe, Toraoh, and their companions journeyed to the Demon World with the Emperor Dragon to retrieve the four treasures of Soukaizan. Influenced by Wataru's "Maximum Majin Power," the Emperor Dragon transformed into its "Kage Koui" form, enveloped in dark light. Its body could then separate into individual Kage Koui parts, which could be equipped by other Mashin like Ryujinmaru and Jakomaru.
The "PLAMAX Kage Koui Senoumaru" kit is based on the previously released Koui Senoumaru. Its armor parts feature a black plating finish, giving them a luxurious, dark metallic sheen. The main Senoumaru body's molding color has also been changed to a darker tone, matching the 1989 "Plaction Koui Senoumaru" product.
Furthermore, this product also includes frame parts for the Kage Koui Emperor Dragon. By collecting the separately sold Kage Koui Ryujinmaru, Kage Koui Jakomaru, Kage Koui Kuohmaru, and Kage Koui Genohmaru, you can assemble all the Kage Koui parts to form the mighty Kage Koui Emperor Dragon!
