Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya today announced a brand-new collaboration product, "FRAME ARTIST Hatsune Miku," combining their original "Frame Arms" plastic model series with the popular virtual singer Hatsune Miku. This exciting kit is slated for an October 2022 release.
The "FRAME ARTIST Hatsune Miku" builds upon the foundation of the previously released "FRAME MUSIC GIRL Hatsune Miku," designed by Fumikane Shimada. While retaining similar body proportions and joint structures, this new iteration features a completely redesigned mecha-girl aesthetic by mechanical designer Takayuki Yanase, boasting a thoroughly mechanical feel.
The kit utilizes a wealth of newly sculpted parts to recreate its exterior armor, which is adorned with intricate panel lines and features articulated "cracked armor" designs. Molded in white, green, gray, and black, along with mechanical face parts, the kit exudes an inorganic, robotic atmosphere. However, it also includes standard face parts with Hatsune Miku's distinct features, hair-styled bangs, and skin-tone molded limb parts to achieve a more organic, bionic appearance. Collectors can freely swap between these two distinct styles!
Beyond the skirt's articulation, which allows for an expanded range of leg movement, her massive twin tails on either side conceal thrusters and can unfold into three sections. Her sleeve covers can also be swapped with alternate parts to display their internal thrusters in an expanded state. Accessories include a microphone and microphone stand. Furthermore, the model features 3mm hardpoints across its body, allowing for seamless integration with parts from Kotobukiya's separately sold "Frame Arms Girl," "Megami Device," and other plastic model series, enabling fans to create their own uniquely styled virtual diva!
