Japanese model maker Sentinel today announced the latest addition to their popular die-cast action figure series, "RIOBOT," with the reveal of "LINEBARREL" from the manga "Linebarrels of Iron." The figure is slated for release in April 2023.
The colossal robot LINEBARREL is a "MACHINA" piloted by protagonist Kouichi Hayase in Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi's manga "Linebarrels of Iron." Within the story, it's the unexpected 12th "anti-MACHINA" unit, existing beyond the 11 known MACHINA. Shrouded in mystery, its performance surpasses other MACHINA, excelling in close-quarters combat with its two primary katana weapons. The tail stabilizer located on its lower back houses both a flight unit and the long-range beam weapon, "Executor."
The "RIOBOT LINEBARREL" has been thoroughly supervised by original author Eiichi Shimizu. Constructed from a composite of ABS, PVC, PA, and die-cast materials, the figure boasts a satisfying heft when handled. It meticulously recreates the sharp exterior armor, intricate internal frame, and vent details from the original manga. Sentinel's renowned articulation technology, including fully articulated fingers, is also incorporated. The color scheme features a mechanical-textured pearl white complemented by various metallic paints, and included decal stickers allow for the reproduction of body markings.
For weaponry, the figure comes with its iconic twin katanas, enabling dynamic dual-wielding poses for powerful slashing attacks. The long-range beam weapon, "Executor," connects via a soft material energy cable and can be stored within the tail stabilizer. Furthermore, by swapping out parts, collectors can recreate the deployed state of the tail stabilizer's flight unit, as well as the "OVER DRIVE" mode with its expanded shoulder and arm armor!
