Japanese toy manufacturer Sentinel, known for its popular die-cast action figure series "RIOBOT," has announced the latest addition from the manga "Linebarrels of Iron"—the "EX-LINEBARREL"—following the standard LINEBARREL release. This new figure is slated for release in May 2023 and will be exclusively available at the Sentinel official store.
Piloted by protagonist Hayase Kouichi, the "EX-LINEBARREL" is a reinforced specification developed for the final battle against Deus Ex Machina, designed specifically for combat scenarios where the "transfer system is sealed." This form boasts incredibly powerful, heavy-duty enhanced armor and thrusters for improved defense and mobility. Its back is also loaded with a vast array of weapons, including spare katanas, Infinity Plasma Weapons, missile launchers, and electromagnetic cannons.
The "RIOBOT Linebarrels of Iron EX-LINEBARREL" is based on the standard LINEBARREL release and has been thoroughly supervised by original author Eiichi Shimizu. Constructed from a composite of ABS, PVC, PA, and die-cast metal, the figure offers a substantial weight, faithfully recreating the original's imposing reinforced armor design, intricate internal frame, and vent details. It also incorporates Sentinel's signature articulation technology, including fully articulated fingers. The color scheme features a mechanical-textured pearl white and various metallic paints, while included waterslide decals allow for the reproduction of unit markings.
In terms of weaponry, in addition to the original katana and the long-range beam weapon "Executor," the EX-LINEBARREL also features the Infinity Plasma Weapon with an expandable/retractable mechanism, and the heavy melee weapon, the "Kanabo." Furthermore, several GENERATOR PODs concealed within the backpack can deploy in a wheel-like formation on the back, achieving a pose reminiscent of a thunder god.
Moreover, the enhanced armor is detachable. By removing it and replacing it with specialized armor parts, collectors can recreate both the "Linebarrel Refined Type" and the Overlord Form!
