Kaiyodo's "Capsule Q Museum" (カプセルQミュージアム) series of capsule toys is renowned for its intricate detail despite its small scale. In July 2022, the series is set to release a new collection based on the popular animal encyclopedia, "I Said Goodbye to Earth: The World's Most Interesting Extinct Animal Encyclopedia" (わけあって絶滅しました 立体図鑑).
The highly acclaimed book, "I Said Goodbye to Earth: The World's Most Interesting Extinct Animal Encyclopedia" (わけあって絶滅しました。世界一おもしろい絶滅したいきもの図鑑), introduces a vast array of creatures that once roamed our planet but, unfortunately, are no longer with us. The sheer number of extinct species is far greater than many might imagine, and this book series has sold over 800,000 copies in Japan.
Kaiyodo's new capsule toy collection brings several of these fascinating creatures to life in three dimensions. While the Bering Cormorant was featured in the book, four other species in this lineup are new additions not previously covered in the publication. The full lineup includes:
