TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, recently announced the latest addition to its transforming alloy toy "DX Chogokin" series. This new release, the "YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie (Maximilian Jenius Custom) Full Set," is from "Macross Delta the Movie: Absolute Live!!!!!!" and is slated for September 2022.
This release features the blue signature Valkyrie of "Maximilian Jenius," a character who first appeared in the original "Macross" series. Director Shoji Kawamori considers him the most skilled pilot in the entire franchise, and he is also the grandfather of Mirage, one of the heroines in the current film. This particular "YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie" is the machine he piloted during his reappearance in "Macross Delta the Movie: Absolute Live!!!!!!".
Based on the official images released so far, the "YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie (Maximilian Jenius Custom) Full Set" largely utilizes the mold from the YF-29 Durandal (Alto Saotome Custom) released in 2020. The color scheme has been updated to a striking dark blue, faithfully reproducing the iconic three-stage transformation mechanism. It also includes Super Parts and other enhanced equipment. Further product details are expected to be revealed on April 25th.
