Good Smile Company, the Japanese toy manufacturer behind the popular Nendoroid series, is set to release a Nendoroid figure of Edward, the protagonist portrayed by Johnny Depp in the classic 1990 film "Edward Scissorhands," in December 2022!
Fans of Johnny Depp are undoubtedly familiar with the film "Edward Scissorhands." Directed by the renowned Tim Burton and released in 1990, the movie stars Johnny Depp as Edward, a synthetic human whose creator passed away before completing his hands, leaving him with scissors instead. This unique predicament sets off a series of events. Winona Ryder, then in her youth, played the female lead. The various encounters between the two characters and their emotional scenes amidst the snowy backdrop have cemented the film's status as a timeless classic.
This Nendoroid rendition of Edward Scissorhands faithfully recreates his iconic look from the original film. His innocent gaze and slightly disheveled long hair are captured perfectly. The detailing on his outfit and the intricate scissors on his hands are also exquisitely crafted. As for accessories, the figure includes three interchangeable face plates, along with parts to recreate Edward skewering meat with his blades, paper-cutting effects, and even a background sheet featuring the dinosaur-shaped topiary he famously sculpted in the movie. These accessories are sure to evoke fond memories for fans when displayed.
