Japanese model kit manufacturer Kotobukiya recently announced the upcoming release of their "Dark Mega Man" model kit, based on the "Mega Man EXE" game series, slated for October 2022. Additionally, the "Mega Man (Mega Man EXE)" model kit, also a new entry in the "Mega Man EXE" lineup, will launch earlier in September.
Mega Man is an artificial intelligence program, a "NetNavi," developed by Lan Hikari's father, Yuichiro Hikari. Upon completion, he possessed a simulated personality and could achieve 100% synchronization with his operator, Lan Hikari. Mega Man is earnest, oblivious to romance, and fears ghosts. He can utilize armaments such as the "Mega Buster" and various "Sword" programs. However, in "Mega Man EXE 5," he was implanted with a Dark Chip by the cybercrime organization "Nebula," transforming him into "Dark Mega Man," who revels in combat and harming others.
Designed with CAD, the "Dark Mega Man" model kit boasts excellent part separation and articulation, resulting in a highly poseable figure approximately 14 cm tall upon assembly. The core kit shares its base with the standard Mega Man model, but features new molding colors for its jet-black body and crimson sword blade. Some parts come pre-painted, allowing even novice builders to achieve a highly accurate representation.
For accessories, the kit includes four interchangeable face parts: a standard face, a smiling face, a shouting face, and a masked face. Also included are multiple interchangeable hand parts, forearm parts to display either Buster or Sword modes, the Mega Buster, two different lengths of Sword, and sword effect parts. As an exclusive bonus not found in the regular version, it even comes with the classic enemy character, "Mettaur"!
