BANDAI SPIRITS' HOBBY Division unveiled the latest REAL GRADE series prototype, the "RG 1/144 God Gundam," today at the 60th Shizuoka Hobby Show. Alongside the reveal, they also announced that the new "RG 1/144 God Gundam Expansion Set" is confirmed for release as a Premium Bandai exclusive, with a release date yet to be determined.
Slated for an August release this year, the "RG 1/144 God Gundam" not only continues the series' signature high-density detailing and precisely segmented exterior armor design but also pushes the boundaries with the largest articulation range in RG history. It incorporates multiple newly designed joint structures to replicate the suit's human-like flexibility from the show, allowing collectors to pose it in a variety of powerful and graceful martial arts stances.
With such incredible articulation, model builders are naturally eager for the "RG 1/144 God Gundam Expansion Set" to recreate the show's various flashy combat moves. The currently exhibited parts include multiple flame effects and a spherical part designed to replicate the "Sekihatenkyoken" (Erupting God Finger). However, for a price of 2,750 JPY, it's unlikely to be just a few effect parts. Including the HG Fuunsaiki from the side would make the price feel more reasonable.
