BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible toy division has officially announced the upcoming release of the S.H.Figuarts Don Momotaro, the protagonist from "Avataro Sentai Donbrothers." This highly anticipated action figure is slated for an October 2022 release.
Premiering in 2022, Toei's latest Super Sentai series, "Avataro Sentai Donbrothers," draws inspiration from the classic Japanese fairy tale "Momotaro." The story follows Don Momotaro as he leads his unique team – Oni Sister, Saru Brother, Inu Brother, and Kiji Brother – against the Hitotsuki, beings corrupted by human desires, and the Nōto, an antagonistic force from another dimension. The series marked a significant departure from previous Sentai installments, utilizing extensive CG to depict the non-humanoid forms of its team members and embracing a virtual reality theme.
This release focuses on Don Momotaro, the hot-blooded and inherently honest leader who transforms from Momoi Taro. The S.H.Figuarts figure boasts intricate paint applications, faithfully recreating his vibrant suit colors and the distinctive peach crest on his chest. Its highly flexible articulation allows for dynamic posing, perfect for recreating his signature in-show battle stances. His iconic weapons, the Don Blaster and the Zanglassword, are also meticulously reproduced with accurate colors and details, including the Zanglassword's transparent blade and miniature Avataro Gear.
