Japan's BellFine company is launching a brand-new sofubi series, "SoftB," with the upcoming "SoftB Pinoko" vinyl figure based on Osamu Tezuka's classic masterpiece, "Black Jack." This charming collectible is priced at 14,080 JPY and is slated for release in November 2022.
Pinoko (ピノコ), a pivotal character from "Black Jack," was created by Black Jack himself. She was formed from a teratoma found within a wealthy young lady, with artificial fibers completing her body. Under Black Jack's tutelage, she serves as his dedicated surgical assistant. Despite her childlike appearance, Pinoko adamantly insists she is 18 years old, having coexisted within her sister's body for 18 years, and resents being treated like a child. Her deep affection for Black Jack is evident as she often refers to herself as "Dr. Black Jack's wife" and cannot tolerate beautiful patients or medical staff getting close to him.
The "SoftB" series, known for its high-quality, large-scale vinyl figures, presents its third release: "Pinoko." Standing at an impressive 28 cm tall, this figure faithfully recreates Pinoko's distinctive childlike appearance. Her characteristic large head, sparkling eyes, and suspender dress, combined with her open-armed pose, perfectly capture her adorable "Ta-da!" and welcoming aura. The bow on the back of her head further emphasizes Pinoko's charming, cute girl aesthetic.
