BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS, a leading name in collectible toys, today announced the latest addition to its popular METAL BUILD die-cast figure line: the new spin-off series "METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE" will release the "Guren Seiten Eight-Elements" from "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" in October 2022.
The Type-02/F1Z Guren Seiten Eight-Elements is a 9th-generation Knightmare Frame (KMF) that combines the latest technologies from both the Black Knights and the Britannian military. After the Guren Flight-Type was captured, Lloyd Asplund and Cécile Croomy, intrigued by its potential, fully modified it, creating an ultimate KMF whose performance surpassed even the "Lancelot Albion." The Guren's back was replaced with a new "Energy Wing," significantly enhancing its aerial mobility and defensive capabilities. Its "Radiation Wave-Powered Flexible Arm," equipped with a Radiation Wave Unit, was further strengthened, capable of projecting concentrated radiation waves in a disc shape or focusing them into a single point.
For this release, the "Guren Seiten Eight-Elements" features a revamped design by Manabu Shintani, who was responsible for the KMF designs in the anime. Moving away from the original's smoother lines, the armor now incorporates numerous sharp, angular designs, giving it a much more menacing appearance. The signature right arm has also been made bulkier, boasting even richer mechanical detailing.
Several signature elements of the DRAGON SCALE line are also integrated into this new design: "Dragon's Wings" – the massive Energy Wings feature interlocking armor and sliding mechanisms, allowing for dynamic and powerful pose variations. "Soul-Dwelling Inner Frame" – hydraulic cylinder structures are crafted behind the primarily die-cast frame, while the Yggdrasil Drive in the abdomen is protected by triple outer armor, with articulation mechanisms for both forward and backward bending of the torso. "Articulated Armor" – multiple armor sections, including the thighs, knees, left forearm, and chest, are articulated, enabling more organic and lifelike posing.
Beyond its die-cast parts, the entire figure is constructed from a composite of materials including ABS, PVC, and clear parts. It features a heavy metallic paint finish and electroplating, showcasing exquisite color at its impressive 18 cm height and a maximum wingspan of 75 cm. Weaponry includes accessories like the Maser Vibration Sword (M.V.S.) and Hien Souga. Both the high-mobility drive wheels on its feet and the Gefjun Blaster launch ports on its back feature deployment mechanisms.
The signature "Radiation Wave-Powered Flexible Arm" boasts an even more mechanical aesthetic, featuring intricate details like hydraulic cylinders and heat sinks, along with a recreated telescopic mechanism. Its five-clawed base is fully independently articulated, allowing it to transform into deployed, diffused, and even launched states with the included wire parts, faithfully recreating dynamic battle scenes from the series.
