Following the release of the "Takashi Natsume" Nendoroid from the popular anime series Natsume's Book of Friends, GOOD SMILE COMPANY, a Japanese company known for its "Nendoroid" series with over a thousand different figures, is finally releasing the "Nendoroid Nyanko-sensei"! The reference price is 6,300 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in January 2023.
Nyanko-sensei (ニャンコ先生), whose true name is "Madara," is a massive beast with powerful yokai abilities, sealed within a maneki-neko. He was freed when Takashi Natsume, who possesses spiritual sensitivity, accidentally broke the sealing rope. In return, and with the desire to obtain the "Book of Friends" left by Natsume's grandmother, Nyanko-sensei voluntarily became a bodyguard for Takashi and the Book of Friends, living with Natsume as a pet cat and embarking on a journey with yokai.
The "Nendoroid Nyanko-sensei" articulated figure stands approximately 8 cm tall, transforming Natsume's adorable bodyguard into an even cuter Nendoroid! It faithfully recreates Nyanko-sensei's characteristic markings and plump physique. Additionally, it comes with four interchangeable face plates: a standard smiling "normal face," a gluttonous "tongue-out face," a squinting "relaxed face," and an angry "furious face." Paired with accessories such as Sensei's favorite manju and fried shrimp, a cat-shaped sake bottle, a yunomi teacup, a cat toy wand, and a leisurely fluttering butterfly, you can recreate various scenes of Nyanko-sensei.
