Which Mobile Suit Will It Be? Gundam Model "MASTER GRADE Ver.Ka" 20th Anniversary Product Under Development!

The Gunpla product series "MASTER GRADE Ver.Ka", launched by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, announced today during the online new product presentation "HOBBY NEXT PHASE 2022 SUMMER" that a 20th-anniversary product is under development.

"MASTER GRADE Ver.Ka" is a 1/100 scale Gundam model series produced by popular Japanese mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME, characterized by his designed proportions, intricate mechanical style, and meticulous body markings. Since the release of its first product, "MG 1/100 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.Ka," in 2002, most products have received considerable acclaim. Notably, the "MG 1/100 ν Gundam Ver.ka" released in 2012 sparked widespread discussion due to its outstanding design. Since then, the Ver.Ka brand has almost become one of Bandai Gunpla's annual year-end masterpieces.

Approximately a year and a half has passed since the release of the last new product, "MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Zero EW Ver.Ka." All new product development information has been kept highly confidential, which makes the choice of the new Mobile Suit highly anticipated. If it turns out to be the frequently appearing RX-78-2, Wing Gundam series, Nu Gundam, or Unicorn Gundam again, it might not satisfy Gunpla enthusiasts.

In 2017, an official survey was conducted regarding MG Ver.Ka productization, and the Mobile Suit that received the most votes, but has yet to see an MG model release, was the protagonist machine from "Gundam Reconguista in G," the "G-Self." With the theatrical version of "Gundam Reconguista in G," directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino, reaching its climax, and parts 4 and 5, featuring numerous new scenes and plot developments, set to premiere this summer, could the 20th-anniversary MASTER GRADE Ver.Ka finally fulfill this wish?
