Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, today announced the latest limited product from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack", the "HGUC 1/144 Jegan (Axis Shock Color)", scheduled for release starting July 16, 2022.
In Universal Century 0093, Char Aznable spearheaded the Earth cooling operation, aiming to crash the asteroid base Axis into Earth, known as the "Second Neo Zeon War". Although it seemed to conclude with Earth Federation Forces ace pilot Amuro Ray shooting down Char's Sazabi, a massive front section of Axis, split in two by nuclear missiles, was still falling towards Earth. At this moment, Amuro's ν Gundam and numerous Mobile Suits began pushing Axis in the opposite direction. The ν Gundam's Psycho-Frame received the consciousness of all humanity in the Earth Sphere, converting it into thrust, creating a miracle known as the "Axis Shock" that pushed Axis away from Earth.
This limited release, the "HGUC 1/144 Jegan (Axis Shock Color)", is based on its appearance during the Axis Shock, utilizing various metallic molded colors to express its form bathed in the miracle. It features brighter tones and metallic particles distinct from the regular version, as if enduring the high temperatures of atmospheric friction. The accessories also include a rich assortment of stickers with designs such as the Federation Forces emblem, Londo Bell team insignia, and unit numbers.
The Jegan's shoulder joints feature a flexible articulation design, while its elbows use ABS parts to enhance strength, allowing for dynamic battle scenes with armaments such as the beam rifle, beam saber, and shield. The waist-mounted grenade launcher can also be reproduced in its open and closed states. Furthermore, the box art features a cool scene of the Jegan pushing Axis away.
