Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys yesterday (28th) announced the second wave of figures available for early pre-order at the annual grand event, the "Hot Toys Summer Showcase 2022 Collectible Figures Exhibition"! This article will bring you information on the 1/6th scale collectible figure of RoboCop from the sci-fi action film RoboCop 3.
In the story setting of RoboCop, Officer Murphy, who had just been transferred to "Hell" (crime-ridden Detroit), immediately went deep into a criminal base with his senior partner Anne Lewis. Although they initially subdued the criminals successfully, Murphy was ultimately outnumbered and tragically shot to death in a barrage of gunfire. After Murphy's death in the line of duty, his body was transformed by the mega-corporation OCP into the half-human, half-machine police officer, RoboCop. Due to lingering fragments of his memories as Murphy, he performs his signature move of twirling his gun before holstering it in the compartment on his right thigh. In RoboCop 3, the most memorable aspect is undoubtedly his flight pack equipment!
To celebrate the upcoming 30th anniversary next year of RoboCop 3, which premiered in 1993, Hot Toys is once again bringing RoboCop to life as a 1/6th scale figure, utilizing diecast materials. The armor meticulously recreates numerous mechanisms and intricate sculpting, with its weighty metallic feel and the glossy sheen of its black components being utterly captivating. In addition to opening the right thigh armor to recreate the gun-twirling action and attaching missile effects to the left forearm, the figure can also don the intricately detailed jetpack, recreating his majestic aerial combat appearance! Accessories include a diecast pistol, a pistol, a spiked right fist, four lower face parts, and multiple interchangeable hands.
