The popular Gashapon product series "Hugcot", released by Japan's Bandai Toy Company's Gashapon brand, has launched its latest product themed after "Uma Musume Pretty Derby", titled "Uma Musume Pretty Derby Hugcot ~Right Before the Race!~ 1". The product was officially released in the second week of August 2022.
The "Hugcot" series features miniature character figures designed to attach to cables of 3C products such as smartphones and earphones. Early products adopted a cute hugging pose to grip antennas, hence the name Hugcot. Now, the series offers more theme-appropriate variations in design depending on the work. For instance, the Uma Musume figures in this release are sculpted in a starting pose, allowing different Uma Musume to be lined up, with the attached cables resembling their starting lines.
The first wave of products features four Uma Musume: Special Week, Silence Suzuka, Grass Wonder, and Marvelous Sunday. They are sculpted with adorable chibi proportions and in their familiar athletic uniform designs from the game. Each Uma Musume comes in 2 different athletic uniform color variations, making a total of 8 styles to collect!
