Released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the 'S.H.MonsterArts' series, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, today announced the latest product from 'Monster Hunter,' the 'Mizutsune,' scheduled for release in February 2023. This product will be available through general retail channels.
First appearing in 'Monster Hunter X,' the 'Mizutsune (タマミツネ)' is a large Leviathan-type monster with brilliant colors. Its petal-like appearance, while beautiful, harbors a deep threat. It can secrete a special fluid, like soapy water, that makes surfaces incredibly slippery. After friction with the dense fur extending from its belly to its tail, it produces a large amount of foam, which not only allows it to glide rapidly across the ground but also deprives prey of their freedom, sending them to their demise in a dreamlike bubble bath. Additionally, Mizutsune can repel enemies by firing powerful jets of water from its mouth.
The 'S.H.MonsterArts Mizutsune' boasts a large size, with a total length of approximately 31 cm. Its sculpting meticulously recreates the slender and magnificent physique from the game. The dense purple fur on its belly and tail is intricately sculpted, while the cherry blossom-like fins on its head and back are rendered with transparent parts and gradient painting to reproduce their brilliant colors. The overall scale painting also utilizes pearlescent paint, making it exceptionally beautiful.
Continuing the series' tradition, the S.H.MonsterArts Mizutsune features highly precise part segmentation in its articulation design. This allows for posing the figure in its in-game gliding-on-foam stance and its S-shaped body during jumps, all without compromising its sculpted silhouette. Accessories include ground foam effects and water jet effects spraying from its mouth, allowing for even more dynamic battle poses for Mizutsune!
