First in the Series to Feature Eye-Lighting Mechanism! The Imposing Body of 'MODEROID The Big O' Scheduled for Release Next April!

The 'MODEROID' plastic model kit series, launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, today announced that its latest product, 'BIG-O,' from the anime 'THE Big O,' is scheduled for release in April 2023.

Big-O is the colossal robot piloted by protagonist Roger Smith in Sunrise's robot anime series 'THE Big O.' It features hard, jet-black armor, and its waist is equipped with multiple rocket anchors to aid in agile and rapid movement. Its distinctive massive arms suggest it is a ground combat unit adept at close-quarters attacks, but within its 30-meter tall body, it also conceals a plethora of cannons and beam weapons. Roger's extensive combat experience allows him to effectively utilize its various high-firepower armaments.

The 'MODEROID BIG-O' kit is composed of multi-colored molded parts and some pre-painted parts. Once assembled, it stands approximately 23 cm tall, faithfully recreating BIG-O's steampunk-style head and chest, as well as its heavy, rivet-studded black armor. The entire model features various deployment gimmicks. The deployment mechanism in its feet can store Roger's beloved car, 'Griffon.' For the first time in the MODEROID series, an LED lighting mechanism is installed in the head, allowing BIG-O's eyes to glow when lit, recreating its cool appearance from the show when it emerges in the dark.

Regarding its armaments, the elbow weapon, Strike Piles, features an extendable articulation mechanism, allowing it to recreate the pose for its special move, Sudden Impact. Furthermore, the multi-barreled cannons 'Cannon Party' concealed in its chest, and the multi-launch rocket launcher 'Cannon Party' hidden in its abdomen, can both be recreated in their deployed states by swapping parts!
