X-PLUS's First Gamera Assembly Model Product '1/700 Scale Gamera (1999)' Officially Announced, Expected to Release in April!

Following "Vampirella," "Maria," "Cyclops," and "Vampirella Ver.2," Japanese model manufacturer X-PLUS has announced its 5th assembly model product: the "Gamera (1999) 1/700 Scale Assembly Model" from "Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris," slated for release in April 2023.

Gamera, the kaiju that appeared in the Heisei Trilogy, is set to be a biological weapon created by an ancient super-civilization approximately 150 million years ago. It was engineered using ancient technology and the Earth's life energy, "Mana," to defeat the man-eating kaiju "Gyaos." Gamera can combine oxygen with its internal plasma energy to unleash powerful "Plasma Fireballs." After major battles, Gamera's body structure begins to evolve during rest periods, with its appearance changing slightly in each film and its combat abilities growing stronger.

The "Gamera (1999) 1/700 Scale Assembly Model" is an unpainted assembly model kit made from HIPS material, featuring a dark gray molded color. Once completed, it stands approximately 15 cm tall. This product leverages the sculpting techniques cultivated from the Daikaiju Series and DEFOREAL Series to faithfully render Gamera (1999)'s powerful and cool design into an assembly model specification. It meticulously captures the fierce head sculpt, and the layered carapace on its back is also composed of individual parts.

By swapping parts, both open-mouth and closed-mouth states can be recreated. Furthermore, the limited edition, sold exclusively at the X-PLUS official store "Shonen RIC," includes bonus parts such as a "right hand for recreating the Flame Fist," "right arm severed hand part," and "abdomen and back penetration damage parts," allowing for the recreation of Gamera's injured state after its fierce battle with the evil god Iris in the final confrontation!
