Japanese high-end statue manufacturer Prime 1 Studio's "Premium Masterline" series recently unveiled its latest "The Lord of the Rings" themed product: the "Gandalf the Grey" 1/4 scale full body statue! Both Regular and Ultimate editions will be released simultaneously, with an estimated shipping date of April-July 2024.
Following the release of "Gandalf VS Balrog," Prime 1 Studio once again features "Gandalf the Grey" as the protagonist, creating a battle pose where he wields his longsword and staff against the Balrog. In addition to meticulously sculpted facial contours, skin texture, and thick white beard and hair, the grey robe—a major characteristic of the character—is also shaped with realistic wrinkles. Not only can the wizard's hat be removed, but the staff also features an LED light-up function. The left hand can be switched between holding the sword Glamdring or an empty hand, further enhancing display versatility.
▼ The expression of looking straight ahead and fighting with all his might is truly magnificent.
The Ultimate Edition, on the other hand, emphasizes the "Gandalf VS Balrog" theme, replacing the original Khazad-dûm scene base with a giant Balrog head sculpt. When illuminated with the LED light-up function, it offers an even greater sense of the fall of Udûn. What's incredibly cool is that a miniature scene of Gandalf battling the Balrog can also be seen on the back of the base!
