LEGO's LEGO IDEAS, which hosted the "50 YEARS OF DUNGEONS & DRAGONS!" building contest to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the world-renowned role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons, finally announced its ultimate winner and their Dungeons & Dragons-themed creation yesterday (5th). LEGO fan BoltBuilds' "Dragon's Keep: Journey's End" (tentative translation) has been officially selected as a future official LEGO IDEAS product.
Reinterpreting the Dungeons & Dragons world and classic elements in your mind using LEGO bricks, the "50 YEARS OF DUNGEONS & DRAGONS!" building contest began in October 2022. After expert evaluation and fan voting, BoltBuilds' exquisitely designed scene set, "Dragon's Keep: Journey's End," ultimately stood out among hundreds of entries. BoltBuilds utilized approximately 3000 pieces to create an ancient castle with a dragon clinging to it. In addition to structures like The Witches Tower, The Tavern, and The Crypt, BoltBuilds also put considerable effort into the path design, resulting in rich overall layering and color usage.
Beyond the scene, you can also play with an articulated Western dragon, a Beholder, and multiple adventurer minifigures. We believe it will be well worth the wait for toy enthusiasts who love medieval-themed LEGO and are captivated by Dungeons & Dragons. We eagerly await its official release!
