BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan has announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," the "HG 1/144 Gundam Aerial (Rebuild)," from its 'HG (High Grade)' series of 1/144 scale Gunpla, known for its wide variety of mobile suits. It is scheduled for release in March 2023.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Aerial (Rebuild)" utilizes a large number of new parts to recreate the design of Gundam Aerial after its rebuild in the show, featuring heavier armor and an added new thruster backpack. The characteristic glowing patterns on the GUND-ARM unit's chest and other areas can be represented using either IMD (In-Mold Decoration) molded parts or clear parts + stickers. The pair of thruster wings on the backpack can recreate the deployment mechanism seen in the anime.
The armament also features the signature 11 "GUND-BITs." Although their shape is slightly different after the modification, they can still form a shield, be used as funnels, or be attached to various parts of the mobile suit to enhance mobility. Additionally, there's a new beam rifle with significantly enhanced performance. By swapping parts, it can recreate the form of a beam cannon, where the rifle's various sections deploy and combine with the GUND-BITs.
