GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable pre-painted figure series "POP UP PARADE," based on the popular anime series "Chainsaw Man," has once again announced its latest product, "POP UP PARADE Makima" PVC figure, following "Denji" and "Power"! The suggested retail price is 4,800 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in June 2023.
Makima (マキマ) is Denji's superior, a Devil Hunter directly under the Chief Cabinet Secretary. Her personality is elusive, and her background is equally mysterious. She discovered Denji during a routine zombie devil hunt and used an embrace to revert the fiend-transformed Denji back to his original form, recruiting Denji to work as a Devil Hunter in the Public Safety Devil Hunters, which made Denji deeply infatuated with her. While appearing gentle, she is in fact a cold-blooded individual who refers to her subordinates as "dogs" and is indifferent to sacrificing them.
The "POP UP PARADE Makima" PVC figure stands approximately 16 cm tall. It is based on Makima's signature shirt uniform outfit, faithfully recreating her distinctive pink braided hair and spiral eyes. Her expression, with one eye open and one closed, combined with the gesture of her finger pointing to her nose, evokes the scene where Makima says in the series, "Because my nose is especially sensitive, I know." The wrinkles in her clothing and the lines of her high-waisted pants convey Makima's curvaceous figure, while the ends of her braids gently sway, adding a sense of dynamism.
