Following the "Lightning Striker Pack" released in 2020, BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's toy division in Japan recently announced a new color variant of their popular METAL BUILD alloy toy, scheduled for release in July 2023.
The P204QX Lightning Striker Pack was originally one of the winning entries in the 2003 "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Mechanical Design Contest," later officially redesigned and categorized under "MSV." This Striker Pack is equipped with enhanced batteries, capable of supplying energy to allies, and performing ultra-long-range sniping missions. It features newly developed miniaturized high-capacity batteries, cooling systems, distance sensors, and its primary weapon, the 70-31 Electromagnetic Cannon, for precise sniping. This METAL BUILD product is set as an enhanced version after re-production, reinterpreted by mechanical designer Junichi Akutsu, and imbued with numerous original new mechanisms.
The overall product content of the "Lightning Striker Pack (ALTERNATIVE STRIKE Ver.)" is essentially the same as the regular version released in 2020. The 70-31 Electromagnetic Cannon is now a split armament mounted on both arms, and the original distance sensors on both sides of the fuselage have been enhanced into multi-functional armaments that incorporate the ultra-precise sniping weapon "Hi-DEW" and other equipment. Furthermore, the entire Lightning Striker Pack can detach independently and transform into an "Automatic Flight Mode" for ultra-precise ranging, allowing the main unit to deploy the Electromagnetic Cannon for precise sniping.
The difference is that this ALTERNATIVE STRIKE Ver. is a newly designed color variant specifically for the Strike Gundam E main unit, featuring a dark color scheme that matches the main unit, utilizing glossy black, clear red, and other colors. It also includes newly designed fuselage markings. Additionally, this pack can be mounted on separately sold Astray Red Frame series, Astray Blue Frame series, and Strike Gundam series mobile suits.
