Today (30th), BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS announced that the transforming alloy toy "DX Chogokin" series will release the new unit "Macross Delta the Movie: Absolute LIVE!!!!!! VF-31AX Kairos Plus (Hayate Immelmann)" in June 2023.
The new unit VF-31AX Kairos Plus, appearing in the theatrical film, is based on the VF-31A Kairos and was urgently modified using spare parts from the VF-31 Siegfried series. It replaces the moderately damaged Siegfried after battle, featuring a large Fold Quartz / Gunpod and an all-around display, with overall performance and equipment significantly enhanced.
This re-released "Macross Delta the Movie: Absolute LIVE!!!!!! VF-31AX Kairos Plus (Hayate Immelmann)" is essentially the same as the first-run limited edition released at the end of 2021, but does not include the limited bonus display stand. The overall design is an enhancement of the previous VF-31 Kairos series, featuring newly sculpted parts for the canards, head, arms, weapon containers, and many other areas. The most significant change is the main wings, which have been redesigned from forward-swept to swept-back. The fuselage markings have also been extensively updated, featuring Hayate's personal emblem.
In BATTROID mode, the detailed differences in the newly sculpted head, shoulders, and arms are even more apparent. The new weapon containers can also deploy on the back into two different weapon barrels, left and right. Furthermore, the large Fold Quartz, which resonates with the singing voices of the tactical music unit "Walküre", is meticulously reproduced with precise sculpting. Accessories include a GUNPOD, a combat knife, six pairs of interchangeable hands, and a Hayate Immelmann pilot figure that can be placed in the cockpit.
